Il Lido (Cottesloe)
One of our favourites! Il Lido in Cottesloe is an Italian-inspired espresso bar and restaurant with an extensive Italian wine list. Set on the famous Cottesloe beach, Il Lido is the perfect spot to eat handmade pasta and enjoy a fabulous bottle of wine, while watching the world pass you by.
Il Lido also shucks fresh oysters on Sunday afternoons, making it the perfect spot for a lazy Sunday arvo lunch. Just make sure you catch an uber, so you can enjoy that wonderful wine list (they won the Western Australian 2020 Wine List of the Year Award) with your delicious pasta.
Lulu La Delizia (Subiaco)
Lulu La Delizia is an institution amongst pasta lovers!
They have an ever-changing menu with seasonal, fresh handmade pasta depending on the ingredients that have been sourced. Pasta is definitely the theme on the menu and many other Italian restaurants focus on the sauce being focus of the dish – not Lulu’s, they make the pasta the star of the show.
Set in a quiet little alley way in Subiaco, this quaint Italian restaurant (named after the owner’s grandmother who migrated to Australia in the 50’s) is definitely worth a try. Their staff are also incredibly knowledgeable about food and wine, so they’ll help you pick out the perfect wine for you to pair with your pasta.
Post (Perth CBD)
If you’re looking for somewhere special to go for a date night, anniversary dinner or a birthday celebration, Post is the place to go.
Post is set in what was known as the General Post Office in Perth – now the State Building, located within COMO The Treasury. Post has recently revamped its menu, previously modern Australian and is now known as an Italian Osteria and Bar and serving contemporary Italian cuisine using local Western Australian produce.
A beautiful setting, paired with a contemporary twist on Italian cuisine. Look no further for that special occasion.
Birazz Ristobar (Mount Hawthorn)
Birazz is an Italian-owned restaurant set in an old home in the middle of Mount Hawthorn. They have an extensive list of all of the Italian classics, but its very hard to look past the pasta menu. Especially the ragu!
They also offer a long list of hot and cold tapas to pair with your meal. A great atmosphere, a small bar and great food. The perfect spot to catch up with friends for dinner.
Francoforte (Northbridge)
Francoforte is a small no-fuss, casual Italian eatery and is BYO too. They have a short but punchy menu and you can choose whether you want a small or large serving size of pasta.
They frequently update their menu to keep it fresh and seasonal. Next time you’re out in the CBD, it’s worth a drop in for a bite to eat. The prices are very fair too, bonus!
Tommasino’s (North Perth and Mount Lawley)
Tommasino’s is so popular they’ve just recently opened a second location in Mount Lawley. It is an Italian-owned restaurant serving up mouth-watering authentic Italian food. They are fully licensed and BYO too.
Tommasino’s import their flour and toppings from Italy. They also put a lot of love and care into their pizza doughs. They truly believe that great food requires patience and that quality and consistency is the key.
One of the best things about Tommasino’s is they have an additional list of toppings (such as crab meat, truffle sauce, prawns, burrata and more) that you can add to any pasta or pizza to make it extra special.
For those of you that are gluten free or vegan, they also offer options for you.
