Meet Brett

It is with great pleasure that we welcome a new year and a new member to join the Gilkison team, Brett Surman.

Brett has joined our team as a Financial Adviser, bringing with him extensive industry experience.

Meet Brett

Q: What’s your perfect Sunday?
A: Morning sleep-in, followed by breakfast and coffee at a nice outdoor cafe (eggs benedict with hollandaise and chilli-maple bacon). Then, a relaxing afternoon at the beach and a late afternoon nap on the couch. For dinner, I like to make homemade pizzas with my girls. Lastly, the perfect ending to my day is finding out that Monday is a public holiday.

Q: Who is someone you admire and why?
A: It sounds incredibly cliché, but I genuinely admire my mum, Lyn. She has been through an incredible series of battles with cancer over the past 3 decades, including having to deal with the passing of my dad. I so greatly admire her resilience, courage and ‘soldier on’ attitude when it comes to life.

Q: If you could meet anyone (dead or alive), who would it be and why?
A: Robert Downey Jr. Hollywood mega-star with an interesting and colourful history. Would be fascinating to hear about his personal story, the people, experiences and challenges over the journey. He also seems like a funny, down-to-earth guy who would have plenty of stories to tell!
